About
Members are John McManus (vocals/guitar), Gary Graham (guitar/vocals), Gerard McHugh (vocals/percussion), Michael McKinney (bass/vocals), Declan McCartan (cello/vocals) and Rory McAuley (drums/vocals) .
Originally coming from a couple of small rural villages in the Glens of Antrim and Belfast runabay are six musicians who through their passion for harmony and melody have been writing and recording since late December 2013.
Runabay are at the forefront of fresh, new music in Northern Ireland, a sound which has undeniably been shaped by the beautiful coastline which surrounds the Glens of Antrim and is felt through the swooping melodies and poignant lyrics. The band produce a mature sound that leaves the listener hanging on the intricate guitar riffs, mellow three part harmonies and haunting cello.

'You, I Know' will love this latest single by Runabay
Having taken a substantial hiatus to write and record new music, runabay are set to release their second single of 2016. The track is entitled, ‘You I Know.’
The new single will be released on the 28th of November, and will be available via all standard platforms and with a sold-out single release gig for 'You I Know' in the Belfast Barge on the 25th expectations are high for this beautiful melancholic single .
Their previous single ‘Woodpecker’ was described by critics as ‘a gloriously rich release’ (Chordblossom) which ‘should see their star rise even further’ (Charlie Ashcroft, Amazing Radio), thus hopes are high for the forthcoming track.
Following on from various 2015 successes, including a nomination for ‘Irish single of the year’ and having enjoyed multiple plays on national radio stations such as ‘6 Music’, and ‘Amazing Radio,’ the new single reflects the musical journey of the band, with the new offerings more reflective and melancholic than previous offerings.
The band have recently headlined a show at Sofar London, and with forthcoming gig at the Spirit Store in January 2017 the future looks bright for the Glens of Antrim six piece.
